Your spiritual growth is always centered on the question of, “Who am I?” The essential spirituality information needed to answer that question is the triality of your beingness known as your body, your mind and your spirit. Each aspect of your being is no more important than the other but none can be ignored in your spiritual journey to understand yourself and the true nature of how the universe works.

You are a three-part being made up of mind, body and spirit. When you are born into this world, your beingness is evenly balanced and each of these aspects of your beingness contributes to the whole in equal partnership. You are a divine being radiating the love that is the core of your essence. Each part of the beingness equation is honored and required in order for you, as a baby, to function and be a whole person.

Every waking moment, hour, day, week, month and year that we exist, as this entity we know as ourselves, we are being sent external stimuli that forms our thought process and thereby our belief system. The stimulus that we receive begins to develop patterns that allow the infant child to make choices as to how the world is interpreted.

During our infancy, we freely exercise our physical and nonphysical senses. We are not restricted by convention or tradition. We are truly free to be whatever we choose to be in any given moment. We are guided by all aspects of our beingness, as the spirit, the mind and the body work in harmony to develop and grow.

Parents allow this wonderful natural symmetry to manifest itself because they understand that in the early infant stage of life, they cannot control how the baby chooses to be in any given situation. At this stage of our lives our innate beingness is in charge and the mind, body, spirit being that we are is working in harmony.

The baby accepts the input and influence generated by the mind. The mind is functioning as a processing center to receive external stimuli, interpreting it, storing it and creating its own “data command center.” The baby doesn’t need any prompting from anybody to begin these typical and natural functions that establish the base for information the baby will need throughout its life.

When baby wants to poop, baby poops. The baby doesn’t need any prompting from anybody to begin these typical and natural functions that establish the base for bodily functions the baby will use throughout its life.

The baby accepts the input and influence generated by the spirit. The spirit is functioning as a perfect reference source of the love that is the essence of our being. As we look into the baby’s eyes we see the wisdom of the ages and know that we have a spiritual connection to all that is. The baby doesn’t need any prompting from anybody to be connected to the spiritual nature of our beingness. It just is “what is.”

Eventually the infant reaches a point in its own maturation where it is able to see the connection between the external stimuli that it is receiving and the decisions that it makes concerning how it responds to that stimuli. The baby learns to eat, poop, talk, walk and grow into the ability to make choices about all things.

We are all made up as three-part beings. That is who we are. Always have been and always will be for eternity. That is who we really are.

We are all spirit children of God, Love and Life.

At our essence, we are a three-part being rather than a two-part being. It is only when we wake up to the fact that besides our mind and body, we are also this spirit that is integral to all that we are and everything we do, that we can begin to understand the true nature of how things really work.

This is the first stage of answering the question, “Who Am I?” You must first become aware of your triad beingness which is body, mind and spirit. Never forget the spirit as an integral part of your beingness.

Eating Consciously With Your Mind, Body, Spirit, and Emotions

The reason so many of us are suffering from disease is because we are eating unconsciously, disconnected from the foods that we are putting into our bodies. Many people eat to numb their emotions, to relieve anxiety or depression, out of boredom, or many other factors, none of which involve a conscious connection to mind, body, spirit, and emotion.

Before you put a handful of chips into your mouth, it’s important to connect spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically, and ask yourself a few questions:

· Is this really what my body needs?

· Am I actually thirsty, instead of hungry?

· Am I eating this to satisfy an underlying emotion that I haven’t resolved or faced?

· Am I eating out of boredom and/or lack of direction?

· Am I eating consciously or unconsciously?

When we eat unconsciously, we tend to grab the convenient, processed foods that are already prepared and within easy reach. Most likely, the foods that you are unconsciously grabbing to fulfill an unresolved issue are acidic-forming foods. Cooked foods and processed foods tend to make the body more acidic. And when the body is acidic, then disease develops.

Disease cannot take hold in an alkaline body. When your body Ph level is alkaline, you enjoy better health and well-being. When your body is acidic (due to unconscious eating of processed and cooked foods), then you open the gateway for disease within the body (ranging from cancer to diabetes to obesity to heart disease).

You can reverse disease within the body by lowering your Ph level. You can check your Ph level easily by purchasing Ph strips and testing your saliva. You can purchase Ph strips at most health food stores and pharmacies. So, what can you do to alkalize your body, if your Ph levels are acidic?

The rule of thumb is to simply start eating consciously. Eating consciously naturally leads to an alkaline state. Your Spirit already knows what’s best for you, and when you eat consciously, you are connecting with your Higher Self, which knows the truth. So how do you start eating consciously?

Conscious eating is all about slowing down and connecting with your food, your mind, your body, your emotions, and your spirit, in order to make healthy decisions that are just perfect for you and your well-being.

Connect with the origin and the “spirit” of the food. Where did your food come from? Really connect…If it’s an animal product, was the animal treated humanely? Is the food organic (or is it processed, loaded with pesticides, fillers, sugar, genetically modified)? In general, you can increase the amount of raw, unprocessed foods in your diet to help alkalize your body. When you connect with living foods (uncooked), you are receiving all the enzymes you need to break down food and digest it properly. When food is cooked, it is considered a “dead” food, usually absent of many of the important nutrients and enzymes your body needs. It’s best to connect with the pure essence of food in its most natural state. Once food is broken down and processed (in many cases, multiple times), the nutritional value of the food diminishes. The more raw and unprocessed foods you can eat, the better!

Connect with your emotions. Is this food fulfilling an unresolved emotion? Or, is there a better way to face your emotions rather than eating to numb your emotions?

Connect with your physical body. Are you really hungry, or are you just thirsty? Would a glass of water suit you better? You can use a pendulum to determine whether your physical body needs certain foods or not. You can also use kinesiology (also known as muscle testing) to connect or “check in” with your physical body to see if what you’re about to eat is actually good for your body.

Connect with your spirit. Does this food make your spirit soar or sink to the floor with heaviness? Is it a heavy food with lots of spiritual baggage (like meat from an abused animal, or heavily processed), or is it light, whole, and pure?

Bless your food! One of the best ways to start making a change is to bless your food. When you honor your food and express deep gratitude for your food, you life shifts to a new way of living, a new way of being in this world!

The Human Spirit is the Key to Mental Emotional and Physical Health

The key to understanding the connection between all these parts of our self is the energy body, the subtle energy system, the missing link to health, happiness and freedom, on all levels, a real existing part of us that is totally ignored and unaccepted as reality in conventional approaches to mental health, and yet, the energy body, the spirit person, the human spirit is the key to health on all levels.

The Mental Health Foundation has defined a mentally healthy individual as one who can:

Develop emotionally, creatively, intellectually and spiritually
Initiate develop and sustain satisfying personal relationships
Face problems, resolve and learn from them
Be confident and assertive
Be aware of others and empathize with them
Use and enjoy solitude
Play and have fun
Laugh at themselves and the world

So how did we develop mental health issues and problems?

Let’s explore this from the point of view of the human energy system, the human spirit.

We have an energy body. We can’t see it, though some technologies do allow us to see energy fields of living things. Some talk about the aura, chakras, and meridians for energy to flow in the energy body. Many successful healing therapies are based on the existence of the energy system and restoring flow when it is blocked. And this is the key, finding blockage and restoring flow in the energy system.

So how does it get blocked in the first place? Ah well, that’s life. Our energy system is processing life events, people, nature, things in through and out of the energy system, in the same way as the physical body processes food in through and out. We eat, digest, circulate, metabolize, get energy from, and are regenerated by, then eliminate the food that we eat. That’s in through and out, changing us in the process. When everything is flowing well, we body processes are healthy. If we get blockage in any are problems and symptoms start to develop e.g. indigestion, colon problems, liver problems, arteries, lymph. It’s all about circulation and getting the nutrients to the right parts. After that the body knows how to be healthy.

So how does flow and nutrition relate to mental health?

We process the energies of life in the same way, in through and out. We compare this to acceptance, understanding, compassion, learning, releasing, forgiving, transformation and evolution, and delight and enjoyment in the process. All our positive emotional experiences we can now see as the flow of the energy of life through our energy system. It feels good. Positive emotions arise from flow of these energies of life through our energy system and energy nutrition is the learning, the feel good factor, the growth, the transformation we get from that aspect of life. This is healthy flow. This is in fact how we are designed, just as the body is designed to be healthy. This is our natural starting state, until life happened!

What are blockages in the Energy Body?

So, as we can get blockage in the physical body, we get blockage in the energy body. For example, we avoid because we can’t handle something, we cannot accept, we resist, or we hurt if we do accept, we hold on, we don’t understand well, we don’t see clearly, we can’t forgive and we feel bad. These are our painful emotions and we feel this in the body too.

In fact, where we feel it in the body is where the energy is stuck.

Events of Life Stuck in Processing

So when we are not in that state of mental health that we defined above, it’s because something happened to us, an event that we processed through our energy system, but it got stuck along the way. Maybe it was too big to handle for a young energy system. So there it stayed, that energy forever attached to the thought or memory of that event, held in the energy body, at the physical location that we can feel, when we recall it. And life continues to happen, events upon events, stored causing further blockage and behaviors that arise from these blockages because somewhere along the way, the support wasn’t there to help that person process and release those events in life. So growth and learning didn’t happen. Nourishment of the spirit to bring confidence and strength didn’t happen.

Furthermore a blocked energy system, has reduced ability to process future events, coping ability is impaired. We emotionally react. Eventually the discomfort of handling life can be so great that disconnection is required, numbing out the feelings and ongoing pressure leads to depression.

It’s all Energy and Only Energy

It’s all a form of energy indigestion, energy constipation, and energetic injury of some kind.

Understanding this is really great news.

Now that we have energy release techniques in the growing field of energy psychology, such as EFT, EmoTrance, TAT and more, we can locate and release the blockage, restore the flow, and heal the energy system. Once more in flow, the state of health returns. We feel relaxed and free, we see clearly from a new perspective, we have new resources we didn’t have before for this situation. We have learned and grown. We are back to mental emotional and spiritual health. We can do this for all life events that got stuck in processing through the energy system and these techniques allow us to release the energy without having to talk about these events over and over again.

So, energy healing, also called healing the spirit, is a key to facilitating mental healing.

Why Come on a Retreat for Mental Healing?

By the time a person is depressed, suffering chronic anxiety, has low confidence and self esteem, is numb or disconnected, there is a lot of life events stored in the energy system that need releasing.

A number of therapy sessions are recommend, using EFT or EmoTrance or TAT and there is unequivocal evidence gathered over many years from thousands of people of the effectiveness of these techniques to create mental healing and change. This can be a challenge to those who follow more conventional talk therapies and medication approaches, and so we find resistance from that sector, but thankfully, not from everyone.

The lack of specific nutrients in our diet has been shown to lead to vital processes not working well. The brain is an organ that needs food just as much as the rest of our body. It is easy to understand the benefits of combining energy healing with optimum nutritional support for mental healing. A mind body spirit detox, cleansing out the old, restoring flow and putting back in optimum fuel in terms of food and in terms of what our spirit feeds on: nature, life, people, relationships, love.

How Can I Start Using the Mind-Body-Spirit Connection to Heal Myself?

The health damaging effects of stress have been well documented. Heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, gastro-intestinal problems, and auto-immune disease are only some of the diseases that are closely linked to increased stress. Our immune system is especially susceptible to negative emotions. Deepak Chopra says in his book, Quantum Healing, “Our immune system is continuously eaves-dropping on our thoughts and feelings. Studies have corroborated this notion: major depressive disorders are associated with increases in infectious disease risk as well as the incidence of inflammatory disorders. Declines of natural killer (NK) cell activity are reliably found in depression, whereas other studies report evidence of inflammation in depressed patients. Other studies showed that emotional stress correlated with impaired DNA repair mechanisms in cells that were subjected to radiation. Another trial suggested that anxiety, anger, and negative attitudes are a 30 times stronger risk factor for cancer thank smoking.

These and other studies show is that inner balance is one of the most important keys to healing. This means that you want to make sure that what you see, hear, smell, taste, feel, and think are supporting your healing. Start with choosing a team of doctors and health care practitioners that are in alignment with your intention to completely heal. It is still a mystery to me why most hospitals look so sterile and impersonal. Even Motel 6 is able to create a more inviting and friendly atmosphere. Although you may not be able to be too picky about the looks of the facility, you need to choose your healing team wisely.

Many times I have been told stories of doctors, who were bombarding their patients with discouraging and strongly limiting messages. “You will always have to live with the pain,” “there is nothing anyone can do,” etc. Being a physician myself, I know that there is a positive intention behind these rather negative and disempowering messages-whether it is the idea to “be realistic” or “not encourage false hope,” or simply to prepare the patient for the “inevitable”. However, doctors rarely consider the destructive and deflating effects on the patient’s psyche that outweigh any possible positive outcome. In our society, a physician is such an authority figure, that whatever he or she says has enormous impact on the patient.

As a physician, I often felt that patients gave up faith in their self-healing abilities, completely surrendering and trusting in the abilities and wisdom of the doctors. Many young physicians are not prepared for this and don’t know how to deal with the power that is handed to them by their patients. The movie, The Doctor, should be a requirement for medical students. William Hurt plays a doctor who realizes how little he knows about healthcare when he himself is diagnosed with throat cancer. As a doctor he was mighty and all knowing, but as a patient he has to endure being treated as a helpless kid, without regard for his feelings and his dignity.

Unfortunately this is not only a Hollywood story; I am sure that many of you have had or are having similar experiences. Doctors and health care providers aren’t the only culprits. Family and friends can also be the source of “gloom and doom” messages. A colleague of mine told me the story of a woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer. During their first session, she was feeling more and more encouraged and determined to focus on her healing and get well again. As soon as she came home and told her family that she would heal, they warned her not get her hopes up, that she’d heard the diagnosis and should know that there was not much that could be done. A few weeks later she died.

Here are a few suggestions that will help you to establish more emotional balance that can in turn support your healing.

Take the messages from the medical field and others with a grain of salt-especially if they are limiting and disempowering. Avoid obsessive “Googling” on the Internet, which can often lead to more fear and discouragement.

Choose a medical support system and personal environment that are in alignment with your beliefs about your healing.

Focus on what you want, which is health and well-being! Rather than identifying yourself with a diagnosis, see yourself as a person who has the potential and the ability to heal and create well-being.

Find ways to regularly relax and bring your body into a parasympathetic state, which is the healing state. Meditating, listening to calming music, being in nature, and taking a bath are just some examples that can help you to achieve this state.

Whatever your body has created can be uncreated. Use visualizations and self-hypnosis as ways to utilize and activate your mind-body-spirit connection. Different Premium Payment Modes Available In Life Insurance

Affordable premiums are definitely one of the most important features of an insurance plan, however it should also have a balanced share of benefits to offer as well. Here in this article we discuss the basic types of premiums and some of the common modes of payments available with the life insurance plans in market.

Types of life insurance premiums:

There are basically two types of premium payments namely single premium and regular premiums. At the time of opting for the plan, every policyholder would be explained in brief by the insurance agent or company about these two terms in particular. These two types of premiums are determined by the quantum of payment and the frequency decided by the person insured. Single premiums require a lump sum payment to be made by the insured at the time of entry while in regular premiums, he/she will be required to makes payments on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly basis. Both single premium and regular premium plans have their own benefits, yet the former proves to be more efficient when considering the total cost involved. The below example illustrates the basic difference between the two types of premiums.

Going by this mode of payment, she will pay a total amount of Rs.1,30,000 by the end of the term period. However, the same plan comes with an option for single premium whereby a person is required to pay a lump sum amount of Rs.90,000 at the time of enrollment. In the second instance, the person insured can save up to Rs.40,000 on premiums. Taking into account the time value of money and rate of inflation, lump sum payments can often supersede the benefits of regular premiums. But again, making payments in one go may not be feasible for many customers and it is finally on their part to choose the type of payment after evaluating budgetary requirements. Therefore, make sure that you opt for the single premium mode only if you can afford the same without straining your finances.

Premium paying frequency:

Under regular premium mode, policyholders are required to pay premiums throughout the term period, while for some policies, the premium term is less than the policy term. For example, if your purchase a policy that offers life insurance coverage for 10 years, you can either choose to pay the premium for the entire length of the plan or choose a reduced payment term of 7 or 8 years. As a general rule of thumb, the number of installments is directly proportional to the sum insured, ie.,higher the sum insured more the number of installments. Once you have chosen the regular payment option, you then need to decide the frequency of premium payments which is either monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. Your premium payment term is also linked to the surrender value of the policy. Generally, a life insurance plan acquires surrender value after completion of 2 premium years. So in case you surrender your policy after the first year, you will not be eligible for the same.

Gone are the days when one had to wait in long queues at the branch counters to deposit life insurance premiums. Going in line with the digital advancements of today, even insurance companies have launched apps and web platforms to offer a comprehensive range of services online. Given below are some of the most common methods of insurance premium payments:

Insurance agents – An insurance agent visiting your home to collect premiums was a common scene in early days, when private companies had only started to secure a foothold in the Indian insurance industry. Even with the changed times and latest digital enhancements, you can always get in touch with a collection agent of your insurer to come and collect your payments.
